Coastal Cactus Wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus)

Status:
No federal listings status, California Department of Fish and Game Species of Special Concern, El Sobrante Covered Species.

Habitat:
Cactus patches in coastal sage scrub.

Range:
Coastal slopes of southern California, from Ventura County south to Valle de las Palmas in northern Baja California, Mexico.

Threats:
Urbanization and agricultural development.

Population at El Sobrante:
Eight cactus patches in the Preserve have been used for nesting.
