Steve Kanow
Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations for the Inland Empire, Steve is responsible for Waste Management's business in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Prior to his current role, Steve was a District Manager for multiple operations in Los Angeles County. Steve has also spent time working for our Corporate and Western Group offices where he was responsible for the development and implementation of programs and processes related to operational excellence. Before his career with Waste Management, Steve worked at United Parcel Service for thirteen years as a part time employee, driver and operations manager. Steve earned his Bachelor degree in Purchasing & Logistics Management from Arizona State University.

When not working, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Steve and his wife are involved with their children's various sports and school activities and value the importance of raising their three children together.

Scott Jenkins
Sr. District Manager - Moreno Valley

Scott is a Sr. District Manager for Waste Management, Inc. in the Los Angeles Market Area. He manages the Moreno Valley Hauling & Transfer Station, which provides residential, commercial, industrial collection in eastern Riverside County and includes a 2,000 ton per day transfer station. During his career, he has managed municipal, inert, and hazardous waste landfills, transfer stations, and a hazardous waste hauling company. Scott has over 12 years of industry experience and received his Bachelors degree in Hydrology Water Resources from the University of Arizona.

German Hernandez
District Manager - Corona/Chino Districts

As District Manager, German is responsible for all aspects of operations at Corona Hauling and Chino Hauling. In this role he is responsible for the development and implementation of several programs related to operational excellence in the San Gabriel Valley. For the past five years, German has worked as the Operations Manager in the San Gabriel Valley District. German has over 10 years of experience in day-to-day operations management.

Alex Braicovich
Director of Governmental Affairs

As Director of Governmental Affairs, Alex is responsible for coordinating our programs and services with the needs of local governments. Alex has worked in the solid waste industry for over 18 years. In 1987, Alex started working with Waste Management’s Western Region Office in Irvine. A few years later Alex took a position with Waste Management in Palm Desert as their Operations Manager. In 1993, Alex was promoted to Division Manager in Hemet, where he oversaw the local operation. In 1999, Alex was promoted to Market Area Manager for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. After briefly leaving Waste Management in 2004, Alex was coaxed back to his new position.

Alex currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce as well as the Murrieta Foundation. He also serves on the Moreno Valley Sister Cities Exchange Program and the Corona Rotary Club.

Alex received his Bachelor of Arts from Cal State Fullerton in International Business and also holds his Masters in Business Administration from Chapman College in Orange, Ca. Alex enjoys playing golf, watching Lakers games, reading and spending time with his family.

Steve Glynn
Community Relations Manager

Steve came to Waste Management in 2002 starting in the construction services division in the Inland Empire. He moved into a Commercial Sales position in 2003 working in the Downtown Los Angeles area specializing in recycling for the Los Angeles market. In 2005 he moved back into the Inland Empire area as the Recycling Sales Representative for the Corona branch. Prior to coming to work for Waste Management in 2002, Steve worked as a General Manager for a corporate housing company in Orange County for seven years.

Steve was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He currently resides in Temecula, California with his wife Jenny, and three small children. Steve enjoys spending his free time coaching his son’s soccer, baseball, and football teams.

Julie Reyes
Community Relations Manager

Julie is the manager of Community and Municipal Relations. She is responsible for building relationships with City Councils and City staffs and she is involved in community organizations and events. Julie has worked for WM since 1988-starting in Orange County and working her way to the Inland Empire. Julie knows Waste Management inside and out because she has worn many hats in her 17 years with the company, including stints as Sales Manager, Regional Account Manager, Community Relations and District Manager for a large hauling company.

Julie is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Optimist Club of Moreno Valley and sits on various committees within these organizations. When Julie is not hard at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
