  • Employee Profile:
Julio Rangel - A Marked Man

There’s dedicated and there’s dedicated. Julio Rangel, a driver with WM Inland Empire, is the latter.

Rangel started with WM 18 years ago, and in that time he has been the recipient of numerous customer compliments noting his helpfulness and pleasant attitude. It’s also not uncommon for him to come in on a day off to wax his truck’s cab and polish its rims.

Rangel, who drives an automated front loader, says he has a strong sense of company pride and isn’t afraid to show it. Literally. Several years ago, Rangel had the WM logo tattooed on his left forearm. When the company switched to a new logo, Rangel got a second tattoo.

“I’m just proud to work for a company like Waste Management,” he said when asked why he got the tattoo. “I work with great people and I feel like I’m making a difference in the community.”

“Julio is a quality employee and we’re proud to have him working for us. I know our customers appreciate him too and would miss him if he weren’t around,” said Operations Mgr. Sal Carrion. And if the company changes its logo again? Rangel said there’s plenty of room on his other arm.
